The Origin Story
East African ruby has become one of the defining coloured stones of the current market. This crystal was acquired through a licensed Tanzanian gem supplier in the dry season of 2023 — its chromium fluorescence and colour saturation marked it immediately as a stone of private commission quality.
Acquired through a licensed Tanzanian gem dealer. Assessed on-site by a trained gemologist and graded for colour intensity before entering the supply chain.
Geological Note
East African rubies form in marble-hosted deposits within ancient metamorphic belts of the region. The high chromium content producing their vivid red is exceptional — generating a fluorescence that places the finest stones alongside any historic benchmark.
The Landscape
Northern Tanzania is a landscape of ancient geology, volcanic highlands and mineral-rich earth — producing some of the continent's finest coloured stones across a range of varieties.
Why This Stone Was Selected
Selected from a reviewed parcel for its colour saturation and uniformity. The chromium fluorescence is exceptional.
Selected by: Lead gemologist
Rarity Note
Fine pigeon blood rubies from verified East African sources, with no heat treatment, are among the fastest-appreciating coloured stones in the current market.
